What
forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
May I operate an IRC server on this machine? May I offer
Shell Accounts?
IRC or Shell Services are not permitted.
What is the port speed
for my server connection?
Your server will have an ethernet connection at 10 megabits per second,
unless otherwise negotiated or specified.
Can I create mail
accounts on my server?
Yes. You may add or provide any services you wish, as long as you adhere
to our Terms of
Service and
Acceptable Use Policy.
Do you offer any SLA or uptime guarantee?
Though we offer no uptime guarantee, we take downtime very seriously.
Our current network uptime is over 99.9%, and we also fully support any
hardware and
networking issues you may have, replacing failed hardware components at
no cost to you. Replacements are usually made within 24 hours. We will
make every
attempt to correct the problem as soon as possible, and we'll notify you
by e-mail once the problem is resolved.
How do you measure
bandwidth?
Bandwidth usage is measured from samples taken at the switch. We will
alert you via email when you approach your limit. You may also check
your bandwidth
usage by logging in to the service area of our site, and selecting
'bandwidth monitor'. The total transfer listed is the actual transfer
your server
has done, both in and out.
How do you bill
for bandwidth?
Unlike other dedicated server providers, we do not add the amount you
'push' and the amount you 'pull'. We look at the maximum of both. For
instance, if you
were to 'push' 1000 gigabytes and 'pull' 500 gigabytes of traffic in any
given billing period, you would only be billed for 1000 gigabytes of
traffic.
What if my machine is compromised or
attacked?
In all security matters, the machine is your responsibility. Should your
machine be compromised, or should your machine be the subject of a
Denial of Service attack,
you will be responsible for any charges that occur due to this. If you
are aware of an attack or any other security related issue, you should
contact our
support center immediately, and we
will take any reasonable actions to stop the attack or compromise. There
may be a charge for this; please see our FAQ on technical support.
Can I send unsolicited commercial
email (UCE) or spam from my server?
NAC does not allow, in any way, shape, or form, the sending of UCE or
SPAM on our network. Doing so may result in the immediate termination of
your service,
and you will forfeit any payments you have made to us. There will be no
refunds. You may also be liable for payment to NAC so that NAC may
recoup its
reasonable costs of dealing with this issue. You also may have civil and
criminal action taken against you by NAC or any other affected party, as
allowed by
law.
What is the term on this
product?
Unless otherwise specified, all 15 Minute Servers are for a one year term.
Can I host adult material?
Legal, uncopyrighted material is allowed. We highly recommend that you
contact both your local authorities and New Jersey State authorities for
more detailed
information regarding different types of adult content.
Do you offer
C-Panel?
Yes, we provide cPanel licenses, available via the control panel option selection at order time.
What OS should I select during server
setup to get DirectAdmin?
DirectAdmin currently supports FreeBSD 4.x and 5.x, 8.x, Fedora, CentOS, and Redhat Enterprise. There is no plan for supporting Windows at this time.
Can I host unlimited domains and unlimited resellers with
DirectAdmin?
Yes, DirectAdmin allows you to host unlimited domains and unlimited resellers.
Can I request a custom partition for my drives?
No, but our servers are partitioned in a way that makes them compatible
with most control panels.
Can I request a reboot if the RPC doesn't work?
Reboots in this case are free. You can either make a ticket via the
Customer Care website, or email support@15minuteservers.com.
What technical support do you
provide, and what's the cost?
We maintain your machine's hardware and physical network connection at no cost to you.
In matters such as web server configuration, application support, SQL server configuration, module
installation, OS updates and so on, we charge a support fee of $100 per hour, with a half-hour minimum,
and billed in fifteen minute increments thereafter. For example, if we provide 40 minutes of support,
your charge would be $50 (minimum charge) plus one quarter hour ($25) for a total of $75.
What would be the charge for
reinstalling the OS?
Custom Operating System installations or Operating Systems that must be installed manually will be charged the initial setup fee.
Where is your datacenter? Where is my server
housed?
You server is located in NAC's datacenters in
Parsippany and Cedar Knolls, NJ, USA.
Do you have an IP address
that I can ping?
Yes. You can ping 207.99.0.120, or you can ping from our network to
yours by using our Looking Glass
page or our Throughput Tester at http://eng.nac.net.
Why is there a charge for reconfiguring my server now, when
the same option was free during setup?
Our server setup process is streamlined to require minimal intervention from our technicians; this is how we deliver your server quickly and at low cost. If you make a change afterwards, it is non-routine and requires the services of our technicians, hence the charge.
How often do you bill me?
Invoices are generated 7 days in advance of the billed-to date. If you are on credit card
billing, you will be billed at that time. Payment must be received by the
due-date on the invoice, which will always be posted to Customer Care.
Why do IP addresses cost so much?
When we assign blocks of IP addresses, we make sure that those IP’s are not being used for abusive
purposes. We deploy a proactive monitoring policy and Network Abuse Staff
to ensure that our resources are being used properly by all customers.
